December 03, 2010 — A Potent Reminder of the Challenges to Come
Like so many of the incoming House freshman, Republican Congressman-elect Andy Harris (MD-1) vowed to repeal Washington’s government takeover of health care. After all, he was a doctor, and he knew firsthand the horrible damage it could do to our freedoms as Americans. Now, a far left group called Americans United for Change is already running ads against Dr. Harris, long before he’s even sworn in.
The idea that Congressman-elect Harris wants to “deny Maryland families quality, affordable health care” is ridiculous, but the ad itself is a reminder that, despite the broad electoral support for repeal and replace that we saw on November 2, there are groups that won’t stop vilifying statesmen committed to carrying out that mandate.
