Revere America Privacy Policy (www.RevereAmerica.org, also referred to: RA)
Your privacy on the Internet is important to us. This Privacy Policy governs the use and collection of information from this web site.  Each time you visit and/or use this web site, by doing so, you are accepting the terms described in this Privacy Policy.  In addition, you are also agreeing to our terms of use or other rules which may be posted on other pages of this web site, including any donor privacy policy, sending emails, posting content, and signing petitions.

As part of the operation of this web site, we gather certain types of information from users of the website, and we would like to explain the types of information we gather, what we do with it, and how to correct or change the information.

This Privacy Policy applies to activities in which you engage and information provided on this web site, with the exception of privacy policies which may apply to specific pages on this web site (e.g., Contests).  This Privacy Policy does not apply to any other web site or any other offline contact between RA and you.

Information Collected
RA may collect information from users of the website, including personal data such as name, address, gender, age, zip code, email address, demographic information, and your IP address; and aggregated data such as information about traffic patterns (for example, how many users log on on a daily basis), and access times.  In addition, we may collect and use information that you provide, such as comments, video, audio and photos.  We may also keep track of some of the actions you take on the web site.  For example, if you upload photos, we may also log the fact that you shared these photos on the web site.

Aggregated Information
Aggregated information, such as which pages users visit, is collected through various means. One of these ways is through an IP address, a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web. Web servers automatically identify your computer by its IP address. When you request a page our servers log your IP address. RA does not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, so although your session will be logged, your session will remain anonymous to us. RA collects IP addresses for the purposes of system administration only.

Use of Cookies
RA uses cookies to automate the process of logging on to certain areas of the site. The RA cookie is a small data file stored on your computer that contains a single, randomly assigned user ID number. By recognizing this ID number, we can automatically provide you with the personalized content for which you requested. Cookies can neither read any other files on your computer, nor damage your computer. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you’d prefer, you can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent.

Use of Information Collected
RA uses both the personal and aggregated information we collect for multiple purposes. The information is used to improve the content of the site, to customize the content and/or layout of the site for each individual user, and to solicit funds for our efforts, to provide information services and communications that may be of interest to you .  Revere America may share your information with affiliated groups, and affiliated third parties and administrators (for example, organizations assisting us, such as database vendors, etc.).  This information is not collected for commercial marketing purposes.

We may also share your information with third parties to provide information and services to you (e.g., web server hosts, marketers) but those companies and individuals may not share your information with any other third party.

We may also share your information with law enforcement agencies, if legally required to do so, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to conform to legal requirements or legal process, to protect the rights or property of Revere America, to prevent a crime or protect national security, or to protect the personal safety of users or the public.  For example, to determine whether there has been misuse of the web site or other systems, we may report personal information and other information shared with us to law enforcement officials.

We, along with our volunteers, like-minded organizations and vendors, may contact you to alert you to important activities and items needing immediate action.  If you wish to be removed from either or all of these methods of communication, please email us at [email protected].  Please allow up to ten (10) days for removal from these lists.

We may also disclose and transfer such information to any entity who acquires all or a substantial portion of Revere America, whether by merger, consolidation or purchase.

We keep your information on a secured server.  We also use other measures to enhance security, and may limit the use of the web site in response to possible signs of abuse.  Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

Minors
We do not solicit personally identifying information from minors.  Visitors who are under the age of eighteen (18) should ask their parent or legal guardian for assistance when using the web site and should not submit any personally identifying information to us.
