June 15, 2010“Recent press reports indicate that you are co-chairing what appears to be a well funded, albeit desperate, effort by Washington’s liberal establishment to try yet again to sell the public on something they know they don’t want and they know is wrong.

“The American people would be well served to hear us debate your unfettered support of the nationalization of our health care system, and to hear just how wrong you are. I welcome the opportunity to debate you anytime and anyplace about ObamaCare.”

– Governor Pataki to Senator Daschle

Washington – Governor George Pataki, Chairman of Revere America, today challenged former U.S. Senator Tom Daschle to debate the health care reform bill. Pataki’s challenge comes on the heels of press reports indicating that former U.S. Senator Tom Daschle will serve as co-chair of The Health Information Center – a new organization that is being formed to defend the health care reform bill.

Pataki issued the challenge in a letter delivered to Daschle’s office today. The text of that letter follows:

June 15, 2010

The Honorable Thomas A. Daschle

500 Eighth Street, NW
Washington, DC 20004

Dear Senator Daschle:

63 percent of likely voters want ObamaCare repealed because the more the American people learn about what this law is and what this law does, the more they just don’t like it.

Every day the American people understand more and more that ObamaCare is a dangerous overreach of government that takes away their freedom, that it jeopardizes jobs and the economy, and that it threatens to fundamentally alter the patient-physician relationship and reduce our high standards of medical care.

Revere America was recently launched to help harness and amplify the voices of the American public on this vital issue. In just six short weeks more than 125,000 people from all 50 states have signed our petition to repeal ObamaCare and replace with the common-sense reforms the people want and our health care system needs.

Recent press reports indicate that you are co-chairing what appears to be a well funded, albeit desperate, effort by Washington’s liberal establishment to try yet again to sell the public on something they know they don’t want and they know is wrong.

The American people would be well served to hear us debate your unfettered support of the nationalization of our health care system, and to hear just how wrong you are. I welcome the opportunity to debate you anytime and anyplace about ObamaCare.

I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Governor George Pataki

Chairman
