February 02, 2011Press Release: Senate Repeal UPDATE

The Senate today is debating the FAA reauthorization bill and the two health care-related amendments.

Sen. Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) proposed amendment would repeal Washington’s big health care reform bill entirely.  It’s similar to the bill passed by the House of Representatives last week.

Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) has proposed a separate amendment that would remove the 1099 requirement for small businesses from the health care bill, but would leave the rest of the bill intact.

According to C-Span 2, (where the debate is being televised), procedural votes on the health care repeal aspects are expected between approximately 5-6pm ET.

We at RevereAmerica.org support Sen. McConnell’s amendment and will count the vote in its assessment of lawmakers in the 112th Congress.  For more information, see our letter in the Press Release section of our website.
