December 17, 2010The Wrong Way to Reform Health Care

Twenty states gathered in a Florida courtroom recently to fight against the unconstitutionality of the health care law, but also Medicaid expansion. Arguing that it would damage our state budgets and taxpayers, the states believe the Health Care Reform Bill will continue to be disastrous until it is brought down. They assert that while health care reform is essential, citizens’ individuals rights and the states’ role in federalism shouldn’t suffer as a result of the reform. The states are standing up against Congress’ proposed ability through the new law to force individuals to buy a product and fine those who do not comply. The states are hoping the case lands in the Supreme Court for the sake of the country and the protection of the Constitution.
