July 31, 2010 — Today is my 21st birthday! This is a day I’ve been looking forward to for a very long time, but as much as I want to celebrate, I know there are more important tasks ahead. During the qualifiers at Pocono Raceway, we tried to get interviews from people about their views of the current health care bill, but there were too many cars roaring around the tracks. We did find a few people to interview, but thought our efforts would be best spent getting the Revere America repeal and replace the health care reform bill petitions signed. We hopped on the back on the car and felt like we were in a parade yelling out, “repeal and replace!” to bystanders. Later that evening we went to a family friend’s engagement party. Luckily for us, most of the groom’s family are doctors! They all shared our sentiment against the health care reform bill and how destructive it will be to our country and its health care system. I can’t even remember how many doctors, med students and nurses there who all agreed. They were mostly second or third generation immigrants from India expressing their love for what this country means as an opportunity for all. They wished us luck in what we are doing. - Chris
